How I Built My CV With AI in 5 Minutes

I spent three hours writing a CV for one position. Sent it. Never heard back.

The next time I used AI. It took 5 minutes and got me an interview.

The Problem With Most CVs

It's not that you lack experience. It's that you don't know how to present it. You write "managed social media" instead of "increased engagement by 40% in 3 months".

AI doesn't know more than you — but it knows how to phrase it.

The Two-Step Prompt

Step 1: Give it the raw material

I'm a [JOB TITLE] with [X] years of experience. I've worked at [COMPANY/COMPANIES] and I've done [LIST OF THINGS YOU DID — even in plain language].

Convert this into CV bullet points that:
- Start with an action verb (achieved, led, built, reduced...)
- Include a measurable result where possible
- Are in English
- Are max 2 lines each

Step 2: Make it targeted

From the bullet points you wrote, which 4-5 are most relevant for this role? Reorder them and make them more specific if needed.

What I Got

In the first prompt I put a list of things I'd done as a social media manager — in plain language, no structure. Things like "made posts, replied to comments, ran Facebook ads".

The output:

Managed organic content strategy across 3 platforms, growing follower base by 2.3K in Q1
Launched and optimized Facebook Ads campaigns with avg. ROAS of 3.2x
Reduced response time to customer inquiries from 6h to 45min

I had done all of that. I just hadn't said it that way.

Why It Works

AI is good at one thing we tend to avoid: converting activities into results. "Ran ads" → "optimized ad spend". It doesn't lie — it just uses the language recruiters actually read.

The second prompt is the key. Every role wants different things. A targeted CV always beats a generic one.

Takeaway

Take 10 minutes and write in plain language what you've done at work — even if it seems like "nothing special". Put it in the first prompt, then run it through the second with the job ad you're interested in.
